WOODSMOKE & ORANGES. Choral Reflections of Canada
Hear the finest of Canada’s choral composers & arrangers as performed by the McMaster University Choir and Women’s Choir. Both choirs will offer a rich and diverse soundscape of proudly Canadian works. From the familiar folk sounds of “Land of the Silver Birch” and “Barrett’s Privateers” to traditional vocals of Aboriginal chant, the McMaster University Choirs will take you on a musical journey to explore and discover choral gems of Canadian origin, including a premiere of local composer David Fawcett’s “Penelope Waits” and Imant Raminsh’s soul-stirring and majestic “Magnificat”.
